Happy Birthday Aiden
Monday, September 29th-2003 @8:51am.....WOW.....Where has 5 years gone? Feels like yesterday that we brought this little baby boy home from the Hospital, now he's 5 and in Kindergarten. From a screaming baby that had to be rocked and bounced....the harder, the happier he was.....to a 1 1/2 year old who could get out of a childproof locked door without anyone noticing for a little while.....to this charming 5 year old who doesn't miss a beat and comes out with things that no 5 year old should...LOL. He's sure given us a run over the last 5 years, but we're happy that he's our SON:)
Here's a little run down about Aiden,
What's your name? Aiden...Aiden who?....You know...Aiden MgDougall
Where do you live? ....right here
What's your Grandparents Names?- Grama and Grampa John Deere, Grama and Grampa Snowmobile, Grampa Goetz...(you know the one with the Orange Tractor) Grandma Turkey Neck and Papa, and Gramma Getcha(Goetz)
What do you want to be when you grow up?- A fireman and a farmer and I want to marry you and be a Mom just like you:)
Favorite saying- You're Rude....and his newest Line- "Mom....you better call a plumber, cause these pipes(flexes his muscles)are about to burst"!....(Thanks Adam)

Wake Me up Tomorrow!
Oh boy.....what a day this has been. Today Aiden is having his 5th Birthday Party with his friends. Yesterday I went to Guelph to get the loot bag goodies and some other things for the Party. I went to the Paper Factory to get a Pinata-I decided to get balloons then too, and the girl told me they guranteed their balloons for 48hrs. I left there and ran into Walmart for a few things.....when I came out....one balloon had broke....no big deal, and I certainly wasn't driving back across the city for one balloon. Today I ran to Fergus to get the food and figured I would buy some more balloons for outside. This trip turned into the BIGGEST NIGHTMARE of my life....Evan screamed pretty much the whole way around the Grocery store....and we're not talking a crying scream. It's this HIGH pitch scream he does now when he wants something.....and honestly it drives me BATTY, and I am sure everyone in Zehrs was glad to see us out of there. Then I pick the shortest checkout----which turned into the LONGEST checkout....as they couldn't find a code or price for an item someone ahead of had. OYE!!!
We get home here, and my mums have fallen over again.....I get Evan into bed....as he has now cried, screamed and kicked the whole way home, I decide to water my mums as they are dry .....the hatch of the van is open, I get all the mums watered....and look up to discover the bag of balloons is flying above the house....SERIOUSLY.....I was ready to call it quits....I either want this day to END NOW.....or start over NOW......Well I should get off here, and get ready for 9- 5 year olds to come, sooner than I want today. "CALGON TAKE ME AWAY:)"
Here's a L/O of the Birthday Boy-the start of the Summer, and first time riding his bike with NO training wheels.
Have a Great Weekend.

On A Roll
I'm super impressed with myself tonight. Started a scrapbook page, finished it and posted it all in the same night....normally I start a page, leave it for a few days...which turns into weeks...and then post it...lol. This is a L/O of the boys playing on the swings...a rare moment of Aiden pushing Evan....which I might add... didn't last long...lol

I played along with Julees' Mojo Monday sketch over at Poetic Artistry this week and here is my version of the sketch.

Back to Stampin and Scrappin
I noticed I haven't posted much of my paper crafting lately.....I guess I haven't been working as hard in that department...lol. I have had sometime in the last few weeks to get some stamping and scrapping done.
Here are a few projects I have completed. 2 of the cards are using my new favorite Cupcake Stamps.
This card was for a sketch challenge on SCS

IPM 2008
It's been along time since I have been to the International Plowing Match-The last time was when it was held in Elora, and if I remember correctly MacKenzie was only about 1 at the time, so that would be 8 years ago. I really wanted to go this year, since it's pretty close to home again, and I knew Aiden would really enjoy it. On Friday morning Papa, Gramma, Mom, Aiden, Evan and I headed out on a road trip to Teeswater. MacKenzie was going to come, but when we got up in the morning she decided she wanted to go to school....there is something seriously wrong with this picture....definatly not my kid:)!..lol. The ride there was....interesting.....Aiden wouldn't stop talking...Evan wouldn't stop whinning....and I thought OMG, this is going to be a horrible day, but it was a great day. Both kids were Excellent. Of course there is so much to see there. Evan sat in his stroller and took everything in, and Aiden the same....of course every tractor and four wheeler display we had to stop at and Aiden had to get on every tractor, digger, and four wheeler they had. Until almost the end....he ran to get into one tractor and he slipped on the bucket...which was full of water and mud.....he rode around in the stroller for the rest of the way in his underwear while his pants dried....lol. We had a good day, a few good laughs and lots of freebies. The ride home was MUCH more peaceful.....not too long and the kids were sound asleep:). Here a few pics of our day at the IPM.Thursday, September 11, 2008
Meet the Teacher:)
Tonight was Meet the Teacher night. We started out at the office....as Brent had to give some Fire Prevention flyers to the Principal. She commented on both kids.....She said Aiden is just so full of life and he loves coming to school, her and the VP both commented on how helpful MacKenzie is and very eager to help them out if and when she can.
Next we moved on to the Kindergarten room.....Aiden didn't really want to show us anything, we had to ask him about everything. Mrs.F commented on helpful Aiden has been with the JKs'...she was so Happy that he is role modeling for them...LOL....I wasn't sure we were both talking about the same kid...HAHA...
Onto MacKenzie's class....she was eager to show us all the work she has been doing so far. All is going good for her so far as well. So meet the teacher night was a good one....the kids have only been in school since last week....can't imagine a bad report already:).
Other news today........Aiden had his six month check up in Hamilton today.....X-Ray reports show that he does infact have Perthes disease in the other leg as well...:(.....we have decided with the advice from the doctor that Aiden will now be suiting up in a walking brace. He's not giving his pelvis and legs enough space when he walks due to the disease, so we are hoping the brace will stretch that area out. She would like for him to sleep with it on as well....if we can get him to do it....she said if we can't or if he doesn't sleep well with it on then not to worry.
But he will have to wear it when he's outside playing....winter months he won't have to wear it due to snow pants. He is still able to play hockey this winter.....but sadly......I'm sure his sport playing won't last that long. Dr.B only wants him playing one sport a season(which is all he would be anyway).....surgery isn't something she wants to worry about anytime soon......I'm hoping he won't have to have it until he's alot older or not at all if he doesn't need it.....so that's our update for today....."Sometimes life throws you curveballs.....and all you can do is adjust and hope for better days".
If you're not sure about Perthes you can go here and read all about it:)

Weekend Recap
Wow....that weekend came and went fast.....Don't they all? This weekend was our Town Fall Fair, Friday night was the parade and we all participated in it with the Fire Deparment. MacKenzie and Aiden rode in the Pumper and Evan & I rode in the truck, pulling the Smoke House with Brent. We went over to the Rides after and the kids got on 2 rides each.....$20.00 doesn't go far....Saturday night we headed up to the mini tractor pull, that was fun till the fall air set in, then we headed home.Sunday we attended an 80th Birthday party for my Great Aunt over in Listowel. We had a good time and a nice visit with family. Brent and Evan didn't come as Brent was running the smoke house at the Fair and I left Evan with Brent's parents.....just easier than chasing him around a restraunt. Hope you all had a great weekend.
The above picture is all of us at the Birthday Party-minus a few people who had already left. The Birthday girl is sitting 3rd on the left.

It's a GREAT Day!
Yeahhhh.....today was the kids first day of school. Although I am happy about that, I do have to admit....I sure do miss them when their gone.We did find out last week who MacKenzie would have this year for a teacher, and Aiden we knew about 3 weeks ago when he recieved a letter from her.
Kenzie was very thrilled to know that she has the same teacher as last year...Miss.H, she was really hoping for her again. Aiden's teacher last year is taking this year off, and the teacher he will have this year took last year off. He will really miss Mrs.C(as we all will) but we couldn't be happier with him having Mrs.F this year. She was MacKenzies' Kindergarten teacher, so we are familiar with her.

Another GREAT DAY at the McDougalls' today....A backhoe arrived...for those of you that know me....know HOW EXCITED I would be on this day. Our driveway will finally be cemented...no more stones, no more mud tracking everywhere, no more quicksand in the spring...and most of all..Papa will love blowing the snow for us this year:) and
neither of us have to worry about a stone going through the front window.
Well that's the update for today.....here are some pics of the kids on the First Day of School:)
